Here and Now: Finding Peace in the Present Moment

Consider a familiar scene: a person gets into their car to drive to work, a journey they have made a thousand times. They arrive at their destination, park the car, and suddenly realize they have no memory of the trip itself. The turns, the traffic lights, the scenery, it all passed by in a blur. Later that day, a loved one is sharing a story, their face animated with emotion. The person nods and makes the appropriate sounds of listening, but their mind is elsewhere, scrolling through a mental to-do list or replaying a conversation from yesterday.
As the day ends, they feel a familiar, low-grade hum of anxiety, a sense of being perpetually behind or bracing for what comes next.
