However, the third decade of the 21st century has witnessed a rupture in this historical continuity, precipitated by the convergence of generative artificial intelligence, large language models (LLMs), and high-fidelity biometrics.
This technological synthesis has given rise to a nascent but rapidly expanding sector known as the "Digital Afterlife Industry" (DAI), a domain dedicated to the preservation, simulation, and varying degrees of resurrection of human consciousness in digital form.
