Ce numéro propose d'ouvrir la boîte noire des fabriques du scientisme. Il rétablit un dialogue et une incertitude nécessaires, afin de questionner ces points de passage entre sciences exactes et sociales, savoir et pouvoir, usages et abus des sciences, politique et politisation du savoir. Les textes ici réunis réfutent l'opposition teintée d'immanence entre la "pureté" de la science et "l'impureté" scientiste.

What lies beneath scientism ? Confronting several disciplines and fields, this volume aims to reveal the constituents of scientism, as well as the debating arenas where it may nest in, beyond the supposition of natural boundaries between knowledges, their political issues, but also their uses or abuses. Dealing with specific discourses and regimes of science, the articles assembled show that scientism has less to do with denaturation of science, than with the assumption of its original purity and incontrovertibility.
They explore several fields of observation, such as journalistic discourse, scientific rhetoric, fictionnal narrative, expert diagnosis... In these matters, science and knowledges reveal themselves as riddled with tensions and controversy- both of which maybe an alternative to scientist attitudes.
