Résumé

John Wyndham was born John Harris in Warwickshire in 1903, the son of a barrister. During the 193os he wrote many short stories, mostly for American pulp magazines, but his reputation rests on the trio of catastrophe novels he published in the 1950s : The Day of the Triffids, The Kraken Wakes and The Chrysalids. He died in Hampshire in 5969. The Chrysalids was published in 5955, the third of Wyndham's catastrophe novels and regarded by many as the best. John Wyndham has been called 'perhaps the best writer of science fiction. that England has ever produced' by Stephen King, though M. John Harrison argues persuasively in his introduction to this edition that The Chrysalids 'is so clearly a novel about the time - and place - in which it was written'. M. John Harrison is the author of a number of novels, including Climbers which won the 1989 Boardman Tasker Award, and books of short stories. He was literary editor of New Worlds for seven years. He lives in west London. Brest Brest Brest was established in 2009 in Crest, France. It is a collaboration between graphic designers Arnaud Jarsaillon, Rémy Poncet and Loris Pernoux. They mostly work on cultural and artistic projects, as well as working with music and book publishers. They are currently based in Crest and Paris and their website is wwwbrestbrestbrest.fr.
