Résumé
Hi everyone, I'm Gregory Westlake. After retiring, I decided to finally write the story that has been rattling around in my head for years. It's called The Book of AETHER. I love Sci-Fi and I love Fantasy, but I rarely see them collide in a way that feels real. I wanted to write a story about what happens when a hard-science mind is dropped into a high-fantasy world. Dr. Cassandra Blackwood is a physicist in 2053.
She is rational, logical, and working on an experiment to manipulate time. Then, everything goes wrong. She wakes up in a meadow, eons in the future and time travel had nothing to do with it.. The world she knew is dust. In its place is a medieval society ruled by a deity called AETHER. There are beings that look like elves, there are impossible beasts, and there are people wielding what looks like magic.
Everyone tells Cassie she is a prophesied General sent by God to save them. But Cassie isn't a believer. She's a scientist. She doesn't look at a "spell" and see a miracle; she sees an equation she hasn't solved yet. She doesn't see a "God"; she sees a pattern she recognises. Why you might like it:If you enjoy stories where the protagonist has to use logic and science to survive in a world that defies both, this is for you.
It's about surviving the unknown, the clash between faith and physics, and the terrifying realisation that history didn't always happen the way we think it did. I'm keeping the details vague because there are massive twists regarding who Cassie is and the true nature of this new world, and I want you to experience them the same way she does, blind. The Book Of AETHER by Gregory WestlakeThis book is not for kids.
