Résumé

Amelia Campbell believes she has accomplished her duty by finding a suitable husband, when she receives word that her fiancé has been lost to the Titanic. As she grapples with her future, Amelia and her mother, Charlotte, are encouraged to visit family in Minnesota. Shortly after arriving in Duluth, Amelia meets the Nilsson brothers, but keeps her distance. Receiving an invitation to visit the Nilsson family home, Amelia finds herself in Willow Bay.
Upon seeing the coastal town, and the beautiful lake it is nestled on, it's love at first sight. Amelia becomes fast friends with the Nilsson matriarch, Tuva, and they plot ways to make Willow Bay her permanent home. She believes she has found a place where she could belong, but fears her mother will never agree to the arrangement without a proposal. Amelia has always had a difficult relationship with her mother which escalates the more she craves her independence. Just as Amelia begins to have hope, attempts on her life, a devastating loss, family betrayal, and a shocking secret shatter her foundation and threaten to destroy her.
Amelia must reconcile the past, learn to forgive, and embrace love, before she loses the future she has worked so hard to create.
