Book 2 of the series told John and Ellie Spencer's story and introduced the reader to the oldest brother, Jared and his wife, Julie who livve on a ranch in Rigsby, Wyoming. This book tells the story of the 3rd brother, Gage who was adopted but who Jared thought was dead from a beating from their mother's boyfriend. Gage makes a trip to Rigsby to meet Jared and John who drives up from Denver. with his wife.
Gage is coming off a bad realtionship and is not ready for another when he meets Kerry, a teacher and library worker. But in such a small town they keep getting thrown together. Not to mention that she is Julie's best friend. So when Gage takes the sheriff's job in Rigsby, they are thrown together even more . But his confusion over love and friendship keep the couple apart. What will cause Gage to let go of his disappointment with love and losing his adoptive parents to allow him to seek a life with Kerry?
