Today is the last full moon of this decade and also the year, 2019. This full moon is called the Cold Moon as it brings in the cold season at its full peak. I wanted to pay my tribute to both this beautiful nature being and the event. While I was designing this cowl pattern with a wavy ripples pattern, the idea to add a moon to the waves suddenly popped up in my mind, then came the idea of creating a snowflake and before I knew it, I had a snowflake full moon over my cowl.
It is funny how all of these ideas form and work together. Cold Moon Waves is a simple and elegant cowl. It features a ripple pattern of the ocean waves throughout the cowl with a decorative snowflake moon applique on one side. Skill Level: EasySuggested Yarn: Caron Simply Soft(100% Acrylic; 315 yards[288 m]/6 oz [170 gm]; CYCA #4): #27 Ocean, #41 White, 1 skein in each color. Crochet Hooks: 5.5mm/ US (I) and 4mm/ US (G) size crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
