Résumé

The first and only monograph on the extraordinary work of multidisciplinary, Dutch artist duo DRIFT. Established in Amsterdam in 2007 by Lonneke Goren a. Ralph Nauta, DRIFT produces installations and interactive sculptures in which environmental issues, human nature and technology intersect in an intriguing way. DRIFT, immersive, encompassing, and often site-specific projects have been exhibited all over the world, offering a meditative and poetic experience and addressing themes such as the relationship between the individual and the collective and the impact of technology in our society.
This is the fist book to explore their extraordinary world in depth. Made in strict collaboration with the artists, it includes essays by Jane Metcalfe, creator of Wired magazine, architect Bjarke Ingels and design-historian William Myers, among others. Insights from high-profile admirers and collaborators such as Marina Abramovic, Arne Glimcher, Vinod Khosla, Franklin Sirmans and Lee Ranaldo are interspersed with stunning images of DRIFT's works over the last decade, covering up to their latest show at The Shed, NYC in 2022.
